Structure Fire
Saturday, August 28, 2010
-
At around 0800 on Saturday August 28th the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a fire in a residence at 12 Woodbine Road. Upon arrival, there was heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the structure and at that time the Assistant Chief determined there was a fully evolved fire located in the second floor master bathroom/bedroom, he immediately upgraded the box to a full first alarm assignment. Shortly after the arrival of the Assistant Chief, the first responding apparatus arrived, Engine 221, and made quick work of the fire. The fire was under control and contained within minutes of the first arriving engine which kept the structural damage to a minimum. The fire was contained to the second floor master bathroom/bedroom with only smoke and heat damage located throughout the second floor.

Special thanks to all mutual-aid companies involved: Monmouth Junction Volunteer Fire Department, Kingston Volunteer Fire Department, and Franklin Park Volunteer Fire Department

Fire House Addition Gets Planning Board Approval
Thursday, June 17, 2010
-
On Wednesday June 16, 2010 the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company’s building committee went before the South Brunswick Township planning board for approval of our new expansion on the existing firehouse on New Road (Sta.22).  After careful deliberation by the planning board, the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company expansion was approved. This new expansion has been long overdue and is needed to accommodate our new apparatus which continues to grow each year with its added safety features along with providing us a bigger up-to-date training area. The new training area is designed to provide classroom lectures along with slide show presentations which will enable us to better serve the citizens of Kendall Park. The current fire house will remain and is scheduled to receive a new face lift and cosmetic overhaul.
