Working Kitchen Fire

Tuesday, April 19, 2016 11:50 AM

Today at approximately 11:50 am KPVFC was dispatched to a reported oven fire on Stanford Drive. Upon arrival crews found a heavy smoke condition inside the residence with a fire in the kitchen. When Engine 222's crew entered the structure to start an interior attack the fire self vented out of the rear of the structure. The crew was able to quickly knock down the bulk of the fire and other in-coming companies assisted with extinguishment of hot spots and overhaul. Other Fire Departments on scene were Monmouth Junction, Kingston, Plainsboro and Rocky Hill. North Brunswick and Franklin Park Fire Departments provided coverage for South Brunswick while we worked at the scene. Also on scene was the South Brunswick Police Department, Kendall Park First Aid Squad and South Brunswick EMS. The South Brunswick Fire Marshals office is conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Thank you to everyone for your assistance today.
