Open House Saturday, October 12th 1-4 pm

Thursday, October 10, 2013  Come to our annual Fire Prevention Open House and meet Sparky the Fire Dog! There will be fire prevention demonstrations and the opportunity to see the equipment and trucks. Light refreshments will be served with activities for the kids as well as free giveaways. Come out and meet your local volunteer firefighters on Saturday, October 12th 1-4pm at the Kendall Park Firehouse located at 125 New Road in Kendall Park, NJ.

   


 

Garbage Truck Fire

Thursday, May 23, 2013  At 10:57 am on Thursday May 23rd,  the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company was
dispatched to a reported truck fire in the parking lot of the El Dorado Restaurant on Route 1. Upon arrival,  crews found the the rear of the truck well involved in fire. We had the driver dump the contents of the truck in the parking lot and deployed a 1 3/4" hose line to extinguish the fire in the back of the truck and on the ground. Crews cleared at approximately 12:05 pm. Thank you to the Monmouth Junction Volunteer Fire Department, the crew of A58 and the South Brunswick Police Department for assisting at the scene.



     



 

Overturned Vehicle

Friday, April 26, 2013   On Friday April 26th at 6:30am, the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to an overturned vehicle with entrapment located on Route 1 South in front of the South Brunswick Square Mall. Upon arrival of Deputy Chief 230, he determined that the victims arm was pinned underneath the vehicle.  Deputy Chief 230 gave instructions to Rescue 228 to crib and lift the vehicle with their air bag system to free the trapped driver. Rescue 228's crew was utilized for both vehicle extrication and standby fire suppression. Also on scene was Engine 221, whose crew set up a landing zone in the parking lot of the adjoining Mall. Crews extricated the victim who was then airlifted to a local area hospital.  



 


     



 

Bathroom Fire

Thursday, March 21, 2013  At 10:50 pm on Thursday March 21st the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Co. was dispatched to a Langley Road residence for a fire in the bathroom. Upon arrival, Deputy Chief 230 found a moderate smoke condition and determined that the fire was confined to the ceiling area of the bathroom. The crew of Engine 221 extinguished the remaining fire, checked for extension into the attic and started overhaul of the bathroom. The crew of Ladder 223 ventilated the residence and assisted with overhaul. Also on scene were Chief 220, the Kendall Park First Aid Squad and the South Brunswick Police Department. All units cleared the scene by 11:35 pm.

   


 

Spring Ahead

Saturday, March 9, 2013  The Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Co. would like to remind everyone to set your clocks ahead one hour tonight for day light savings time. Please also take the time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.



   


 

Motor Vehicle Fire

Wednesday, March 6, 2013  This morning at approximately 0651 hrs. the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Co. was dispatched to a car fire secondary to a motor vehicle collision at the corner of Sand Hills Road and Old Beekman Road. Upon arrival, crews found a Toyota Camry with the engine compartment well involved in fire. The crew of Engine 221 stretched an 1 3/4" line and quickly extinguished the fire. Also on scene were Chief 220, Deputy Chief 230, Utility 227 as well as ambulance A58 and the South Brunswick Police Department.

Open House 2012

Wednesday, October 3, 2012  Come kick off Fire Prevention Week 2012 with the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company during our open house. Open house will be this Saturday October 6th from 1pm-4pm at the firehouse on New Road (Station 22).

   


 

FULLY INVOLVED IN JUNCTION

Tuesday, July 3, 2012  On Tuesday July 3rd at approximately 9:45 pm the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Co. was dispatched to Revere Road in the Dayton section of South Brunswick to assist the Monmouth Junction Fire Department with a reported structure fire. Upon arrival crews found a fully involved two story residential structure Engine 221 and Ladder 223 responded and assisted with establishing multiple 2.5" lines for fire attack and protection of exposures as well as assisting in over haul operations. Approximately sixty firefighters from Monmouth Junction, Kingston, Kendall Park, North Brunswick and Jamesburg Fire Departments assisted in fighting the fire while the Cranbury and Little Rocky Hill Fire Departments covered calls in the rest of the township from Station #20. Also on scene were the Monmouth Junction and Kendall Park First Aid Squads doing firefighter rehab and the South Brunswick Police Department for scene security.

Back Up Monmouth Junction

Saturday, June 16, 2012  On Saturday June 16th, The Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company responded to apartment J-5 in Quincy circle to back up The Monmouth Junction Volunteer Fire Department on a working structure fire. Kendall Park responded with Engine 221 (Luterzo) and Truck 223 (Berezansky) directly to the scene. Crews from Engine 221 hooked up to the hydrant to feed Tower 201 and then checked for extension in adjacent units while the crew from Truck 223 preformed truck company operations. Also on scene were Chief 220 (Perez) and Deputy Chief 230 (Cioffi) who performed operational tasks.
