Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Co.

Membership Information:

The Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company is always looking for new volunteer members. We accept members from not only our response area, but also surrounding areas and communities. 

Qualifications for Regular Membership:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Be of Good Moral Character
  • Submit Completed Application
  • Pass Medical Physical
  • Complete Fire Academy within 1 year of joining the department
  • Pass a background check
  • Complete a 1 year probationary period
  • Must make at least 35% of all events within the first year.

Qualifications for Junior Membership:

  • Must be between 16 and 17 years old
  • Be of Good Moral Character
  • Submit Completed Application
  • Pass a Medical Physical
  • Pass a Background Check
  • Schedule a meeting between parents and chief to discuss junior membership responsibilities

Membership has its privileges, including but not limited to:

  • Length of Service Awards Program:similar to a 401K plan.
  • Yearly stipend for fire call attendance. Most of our members average $500 per year or more
  • Life insurance benefit
  • Local, state and national-level training
  • Uniforms, turn-out gear, training and personal equipment provided
  • Tuition Credit. Active members are entitled to up to six credits per semester at New Jersey community colleges at no cost

**Applications can be dropped off at the station any Monday night between 7:00 and 9:00pm
